SITE

117-119 Harrington Street, The Rocks consists of two separate buildings that were subsequently combined – Accounts House and the Housing Board Building. Both buildings are listed on the State Heritage Register as two separate listings ‘Housing Board Building’ (SHR 01522) and ‘Accountants House’ (SHR 01521).

Accountants’ House was constructed in c.1914, and the Housing Board Building was constructed c.1910-11. The buildings are both good examples of the Federation Warehouse architectural style, and demonstrate the redevelopment of the Rocks in the early 1900s by the State Government.
